The Charity Commission has published guidance to charities which includes guidance on serious incident reporting.

Our own guidance on serious incident reporting does not replace or supersede the Commission’s guidance. It suggests how that guidance might be interpreted in the higher education (HE) sector.

Public interest disclosures

We also receive, from time to time, a range of allegations of financial irregularity or impropriety, mismanagement, waste and fraud in higher education institutions, from a variety of sources.

These are known as public interest disclosures.
