Funding HEFCE will provide £634,000 to support MAFF awards to English HEIs
Purpose of initiative
The HEFCE is providing funds for research infrastructure in association with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAFF) Veterinary Research Fellowships initiative. Proposals under this initiative were called for in May 1998.
In supporting the initiative by MAFF, the HEFCE has contributed funding to support the establishment of two interdisciplinary collaborative research teams. These will draw together individuals in university veterinary schools with researchers from established centres of excellence in other disciplines and other universities and institutes.

The HEFCE support for MAFF initiative was announced in circular letter 14/98.
