Capital funding for research 2006-08
In January 2005 we published HEFCE 2005/08, setting out arrangements for our programme covering research capital (together with learning and teaching and infrastructure capital) for higher education institutions for 2006 to 2008.
Capital grants were made available to institutions from April 2006 and must be spent by March 2008. Funding is distributed by formula as a conditional allocation. We have allocated £903 million for research capital to English higher education institutions.

Project completion statement for capital research funding 2006-08
Institutions should complete a project completion statement for every completed project under their capital research 2006-08 programme.
