Developing policy on staff and outputs webinar: 19 July 2017

This webinar introduces the developing policy relating to the submission of staff and outputs to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021.

Why we held this webinar

This webinar aimed to share the developing proposals and gather views from the sector.

Following the consultation on the second REF, the funding bodies are engaging further with the sector on key aspects of the framework around submitting staff and outputs.

Our engagement on these issues will inform the development of the initial decisions on these aspects of the framework, due to be announced in the autumn.

Join the discussion the proposals on submitting staff and outputs to the REF

Email to comment on the proposals outlined in the webinar. Alternatively, please comment on the blog posts above.

We hope the sector will engage in further discussion on these proposals. This discussion will help us to refine the proposals and inform the funding bodies’ initial decisions on these aspects.

Consultation events and webinars: January - February 2017

The four UK funding bodies held five events during the consultation period for delegates from higher education institutions (HEIs). The events outlined the key consultation questions and proposals and offered the opportunity to raise any issues for clarification and discussion. The events were attended by representatives from the majority of UK HEIs with an interest in submitting to the next REF.

We also hosted a series of webinars, replicating key content from the consultation events and to reflect on some of the common issues raised. Recordings of the webinars are provided below.
