Routes into Languages is a £7.3 million programme that aims to encourage the take-up of modern foreign language courses in England.
We have supported the programme since 2006 as part of our wider support for modern foreign languages as a strategically important and vulnerable subject.
The programme started in 2006-07 and is funded via our Strategic Development Fund (SDF) until July 2013. It is led by the UK Subject Centre for Languages, Linguistics and Area Studies (LLAS) in partnership with the University Council of Modern Languages (UCML).
