How higher education is helping graduates find employment

Universities and colleges are providing a range of services to students to help them make a smooth transition into work after graduation. Since April 2009 we have provided funding through two specific initiatives: the Economic Challenge Investment Fund (ECIF) and a graduate internship scheme.

These aim to help higher education quickly expand what the help they offer in response to the changing economic climate, particularly for their local graduates and businesses.

Over 11,000 work placements and internships have been provided by both schemes across England, supported by a range of other regional activity and matched funding.
