The universities and colleges in the North East have provided additional support to undergraduate students and recently qualified graduates by putting together 'themed packages' through their careers and employability services.
Several institutions are running graduate internships. All have some capacity to deliver internship schemes whether via careers services, faculties and schools or central business-engagement units. Institutions have been awarded 365 places under the graduate internships scheme.
The University is providing employability support for graduates through an Associate and Fellowship scheme for 36 recently unemployed individuals.
These individuals can use the university's resources for career development. Additional careers support for 900 undergraduates and recently qualified graduates is also available, alongside flexible, work-based provision for the region's manufacturing and automotive industries. A range of graduate internships are also available to access.
