The project at Edge Hill University focuses on support for the children’s workforce in the context of the Every Child Matters strategy. This strategy aims to enable all children to reach their potential, contribute to society, and equip them for the workplace in safety, good health, at school and at home.
The project will work with employers to help them develop accredited and flexible training for employees who work with children, young people or their families. It takes these training opportunities into the workplace to improve the up-take of higher education, training, and professional development among learners in this field.
The project is a collaborative partnership with the following local authorities: Lancashire, Cheshire, Wirral, Knowsley, Shropshire and the Greater Merseyside and West Lancashire Lifelong Learning Network.
