The University of Huddersfield employer engagement project unites the university’s expertise across a range of disciplines to develop work-based learning programmes for employers, and, in particular, their management-level staff.
Focused on – though not exclusive to - sustainability, waste management, recycling, and business and management, the project will develop a programme of skills development that meets employer requirements in terms of content, flexibility, and cost.
The project is one of a number of pilot projects the university is undertaking in collaboration with Energy & Utility Skills, the Sector Skills Council for the electicity, gas, waste management and water industries. The project belongs to a network of five higher education institutions (Leeds, Cranfield, Chester, Kingston and Huddersfield), and complements the areas in which Energy & Utility Skills are already involved by developing valuable work in a range of supplementary areas.
Funding award : £249,130
