This project aims to establish a more coordinated approach to employer engagement, and provide a clear entry route to the university for employers.
The project will formalise existing relationships centrally and reach out to new businesses through targeted sector engagement, focusing initially on environment, marine and creative industries.
The university will develop its systems and processes to enable the design and delivery of learning packages more suited to employer and employee needs.
A new design centre will be central to the project. This will be an inter-disciplinary centre, drawing together work across the arts, engineering and management. It is hoped that business will lead the academic agenda at the centre, bringing their employees, their challenges and their ideas to create a regional focus for innovation and design.
