London Higher, London First and the Learning and Skills Network

A strategic approach towards employer engagement for higher education (HE) in London

The project aims to explore the nature of commercial links between businesses and higher education institutions in London, and identify strategic solutions for strengthening them.

The particular focus is on those areas where institutions can in future provide additional and enhanced training, education and skills development services to and for the business community in the capital.

The core of the work comprised three research projects to be managed by London Higher:

  1. understanding the demand from employers for higher-level skills in London
  2. understanding the supply of higher-level skills training programmes in London
  3. strategic solutions to the issues identified in (i) and (ii).

The project is now completed. The research reports can be viewed at the web-site linked below.
