London Workforce Development

The project aims to build the capability and capacity of London’s universities and colleges, supporting them to increase the quality and quantity of transactions with employers, and promoting the institutions to employers. It will help bring clarity and focus to the way London institutions offer higher-level skills.

Based on original research and taking into account developing policies in London and elsewhere, London Workforce Development will help universities and colleges to provide higher-level skills to the workforce, and to give business the competitive advantage.

London Workforce Development will:

• facilitate collaboration to support institutions to enhance their offering to employers
• identify and understand the market
• provide employer-engagement information and guidance to institutions to assist in delivery
• market activities to provide a consistent message of the benefits of higher education and long-term marketing support for institutions
• source and disseminate examples of good practice, to ensure that lessons are learned and that success stories are shared with employers and higher education institutions to encourage participation in the market.
