The project focuses on sustainable employer-focused HE opportunities in the region as a whole, rather than the needs of one major employer.
The University of Gloucester is working with Gloucestershire College, the Royal Agricultural College and the University of the West of England, Bristol to ensure geographic reach, employer relevance, business simplification and specialist discipline input. The project will establish links with key employers to identify unmet needs and develop innovative solutions and increased HE participation.
The project will offer a professional one-stop shop for accessing employer-led higher and further education training, and courses and knowledge for use by employers and employees. A range of flexible new programmes will be developed, including bespoke courses, work-based learning, professional training, bite-sized learning, and continued provision of knowledge transfer projects, research, consultancy, and mentoring.
The long-term goal is effective county-wide provision which converts the current high levels of latent demand, and forges lasting links between employers and institutions.
