'Transforming the HE Landscape' brings together the workforce development teams at Staffordshire University and Stoke-on-Trent College to create a 'one-stop shop' for North Staffordshire employers. The project will address basic and higher-level skills in a series of key sectors and across a number of cross-cutting themes.
The service is located at the University Quarter, a regional multi-million pound regeneration project designed to accelerate higher-level skills and qualifications, regenerate the local economy, and create a culture of enterprise in the city and across the county.
To meet the diverse needs of this community and ensure a positive impact on its performance, the service operates a 'skills escalator'. This is a facility that allows the project to support skills development and training across a continuum of levels according to employer requirements.
Key sectors for the project are: the creative and cultural industries, distribution and logistics, manufacturing and engineering, and health and social care. In parallel to this focus, the project works in several thematic areas: leadership and management development, information technology, technology, telecommunications, and enterprise and entrepreneurship.
Funding award : £3,000,000
