Building on the work of the LEEP project, this project will work with local college partners and the Sector Skills Councils to spread information about employer opportunities to engage with higher education.
To achieve this, the project will seek to embed employer engagement activity in the culture of the university and colleges.
Work will include creating and enhancing an employer link database, and developing advice and guidance tools. It will also further develop business processes and systems, to support and track engagement opportunities, recruitment, and learning and achievement of employee learners.
The project will extend current work to new skill areas including Engineering, Retail, Environmental Technology, Logistics, Sport and Construction.
Building on this work, the university’s employer engagement work aims to establish a physical presence in each of the partner colleges through further bids to the North West Regional Development Agency.
