Micro-studies

As part of a programme run with a range of HE-BCI stakeholders to develop a broader range of measurements for higher education's engagement with business and the community we supported six 'micro-studies'.

The programme

The programme aimed to explore gaps in the metrics that are currently available through the higher education-business and community interaction survey. Specifically, it aimed to improve the data available in the areas of:

society, community and culture (covering public, community, and civic engagement)
public policy
student enterprise and/or social enterprise
staff and student exchanges between HE and business and the community measuring benefits.

The studies

The six micro-studies aimed to explore metrics in one of the four areas of focus listed above. The studies were based at six separate institutions, had limited scope, and ran for a short duration.
