Procurement
We aim to promote expertise in procurement across the full range of goods and services used by higher education (HE), so that higher education institutions (HEIs) can make savings that can be reinvested to support delivery of HEIs’ aims and objectives.
Good practice
We have funded projects in the following areas:
- e-Procurement
This project contributed to greater efficiency in the procurement process by developing good practice in the implementation of e-procurement, encouraging the HE sector and suppliers to participate.
- Sustainable procurement
The Sustainable Procurement Centre of Excellence is intended to build capacity in sustainable procurement, influence supply chains and develop measurement and monitoring tools to demonstrate changed practice in this area.
- The development of collaborative procurement
This project is intended to develop closer working relationships among the four procurement consortia that support English universities and colleges and to encourage use of tools such as the Central Universities Purchasing Information Database (CUPID) and Procureweb
Partnerships
We work with the following organisations:
- Procurement Professionals Group (PPG), the voice of the procurement practitioner in higher and further education
- English National Procurement Consortium (ENPC), the lead on procurement strategy
- regional purchasing consortia, the leads on collaborative procurement in HE, along with other commodity specific consortia.
Procureweb
Procureweb supports procurement within universities and colleges and the Research Councils.
