Feasibility study reference : FS55
Lead institution : JANET(UK) on behalf of the Russell Universities Group of IT Directors
The Russell Universities Group of IT Directors has identified a common need in their high performance computing data storage and management requirements. Additionally the sector has a need to make more efficient use of both physical facilities and power. These higher education institutions (HEIs) concluded that a unified (shared service) approach to address these requirements will deliver operational and commercial efficiencies for all participants, and presents a rational solution in the context of finite resources, including the important power and environmental factors. The intention is that the outcome will be fully scalable across all HEIs.
Total funding : £146,875
