To investigate the feasibility and costs of developing and maintaining a managed shared research data service across the whole of the UK.
The feasibility study will address the need not just for storage capacity but for active management of the creation, selection, ingestion, storage, retrieval and preservation of research data the ‘data lifecycle’ now recognised as a complex process requiring an integrated approach.
The study is led by the London School of Economics and Political Science on behalf of the Consortium of Research Libraries and the Russell Group of IT Directors, working with partners such as the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC).
Total funding : £200,000
