Leadership Foundation for Higher Education

The Leadership Foundation for Higher Education provides a dedicated service of support and advice on leadership, governance and management for all UK higher education institutions (HEIs). 

We work closely with the foundation in order to meet our objective to promote further development of leadership, governance and management that will help HEIs to deliver and innovate. 

Innovation and Transformation Fund

In collaboration with the Foundation we have set up the Innovation and Transformation Fund, which will support innovative projects to improve efficiency in universities and higher education colleges over the period 2012 to 2013. 

Sector impact assessment

In developing the fund, we have formally assessed its impact on the HE sector in terms of regulatory burden, equality and diversity, sustainable development and privacy.

Funding

With our funding partners, the Scottish Funding Council, the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales and the Department for Employment and Learning, Northern Ireland, we are providing funding for the Leadership Foundation. Our partnership is explained in the funding agreement with the foundation.

We undertook an evaluation of the first three years of the LFHE's activity in 2006 and a second evaluation in 2010.

Sector impact assessments

In developing our policy towards the LFHE, we have formally assessed its impact on the HE sector in terms of regulatory burden, equality and diversity, and sustainable development during the early years of its operation. Three assessments have been made.
