Leadership, Governance and Management Fund
We have invested in improving leadership, governance and management in the higher education (HE) sector through the Leadership, Governance and Management (LGM) Fund.
Funded activities
We have used the fund to support three strands of activity:
The fund was open between 2004 and July 2010.
From 2000 to 2003 good practice in leadership and management was supported by the Good Management Practice Fund.
Evaluation
The LGM and GMP Funds were evaluated:
- In 2007, ‘Evaluation of HEFCE's investment in good management practice development in the HE sector’
- In 2011, ‘Evaluation of the HEFCE Leadership, Governance and Management Fund’.
Sector impact assessment
In developing the LGM Fund, we have undertaken two formal assessments of the impact it had on the HE sector in terms of regulatory burden, equality and diversity, and sustainable development.
