An effective internal audit service is a key plank of institutional governance. This project is intended to secure more effective internal audit throughout the higher education (HE) sector by strengthening the Council for Higher Education Internal Auditors (CHEIA), the representative body for internal auditors in HE.
During the project's lifetime from 2007 until early 2011, CHEIA will promote, develop and disseminate good practice. A training and development strategy will be put in place, together with a forward programme of events on a rolling one year timetable.
