A regional network of equal opportunities staff advisory groups

Project reference : LGMF-030

Lead institution : Liverpool John Moores University

This project, which completed in 2007, set up two sub-regional networks, of around eight HEIs each.  The groups included partners from outside the higher education sector, including Merseyside Police (who have established minority staff groups), Barclays Bank and the Immigration Service.

Each staff advisory group was open to members of staff who identify themselves as within its remit. Each group had a dual mission, both as a means of peer support for members and to influence strategy regarding equality and diversity and human resources management within the 16 partner HEIs.

Total funding : £75,000
