Developing good practice in managing age diversity

The findings of this project, which was completed in December 2008, are available from its web-site and its report ‘Developing Good Practice in Managing Age Diversity in the Higher Education Sector: An Evidence-Based Approach’, ISBN 978-1-873576-77-9. It was intended to support HEIs in:

  • implementing the age discrimination legislation
  • understanding the likely impact of demographic changes in the HE workplace
  • developing good practice in managing age diversity
  • identifying innovative approaches to career management for older staff, to flexible retirement and to the use of positive action to increase age diversity
  • bringing about organisational culture change on age-related issues.

A resource guide to help HEIs to develop good practice in managing age diversity is also available from the project’s web-site.
