Project reference : LGMF-073
Lead institution : Newman University College
The purpose of the Mission-Appropriate Governors' Performance Indicators (MAGPI) project, which ran from November 2006 to July 2009, was to develop sets of appropriate performance indicators (PIs) in support of the specialist missions of universities and colleges. The HEIs represented in this project include church colleges and universities and land-based colleges. Whilst each of these HEIs has developed core performance indicators in common with the HE sector, the specialist nature of their mission requires further PIs which enable governors to judge how well such HEIs are doing against their founding mission. The project's purpose was to identify and develop key data frameworks and it has supported the use of such indicators by developing bespoke training materials that enable governors to make the best possible use of these indicators.
