Project reference : LGMF-209
Lead institution : University of Liverpool
This project will provide a case study of the cultural change programme required to establish and run sustainable, shared laboratory facilities, which will involve new management structures for technical staff.
The University of Liverpool is building a Centralised Teaching Laboratory and the University of Sunderland is reorganising accommodation in the Sciences Complex Redevelopment (SCR) project. The two universities will share knowledge and draw on the organisational and management arrangements of each project.
The Universities of Birmingham, Edinburgh and Sheffield will provide estates and academic critique of the design and management, and they will also draw on the experience to inform their own development of shared use facilities.
The project will run for three years from September 2010.
Total funding : £160,960
