Good design in the use of e-learning environments on campus

Project reference : LGMF-056

Lead institution : University of Wolverhampton

Higher education institutions are increasingly using institution-wide or faculty-wide, managed and virtual learning environments, along with internet access, to provide a framework for technology supported learning (TSL). TSL enhances, rather than replaces, typical pedagogic processes and its tools provide the opportunity for modern learning to be provided in new ways.

Effective e-learning environments and spaces are needed to deliver TSL. This project, which ran from 2007-2010 examined not the delivery of learning and teaching via e-learning, but how higher education institutions can design buildings and spaces on campus, and manage the infrastructure to provide effective e-learning.
