Developing and embedding joint and partnership working in higher education

Lead institution : Universities and Colleges Employers' Association

This project, which was completed in Summer 2008, followed on from a successful phase one project, LGMF-019 and was designed to assist the development of joint working between employers and trades unions in higher education institutions. It involved:

  • training in joint working skills
  • 'facilitated problem solving' using employment consultants that employ joint working methods
  • nine regionally delivered learning seminars
  • two events aimed at the heads of institutions delivered with Universities UK and SCOP
  • the publication and dissemination of the toolkit and report developed under phase one
  • working with the Leadership Foundation to embed joint working principles at the highest level.
