Project reference : LGMF-053
Lead institution : University of Westminster
As in the wider economy, pensions issues have become high profile in higher education (HE). In 2007 Universities UK in association with GuildHE and the Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA), sponsored a strategic enquiry into the pension arrangements of the HE sector.
This major project was led by Geoffrey Copland, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Westminster and funded by the LGM Fund and the Scottish Funding Council.
A full report on the project, prepared by Hewitt Associates, is available from the web-site of the Employers Pensions Forum (EPF) for HE.
The EPF has undertaken further work on HE pensions in a separate project, 'Developing and embedding a new higher education sector pension strategy (Phase 2)'.
Total funding : £67,000
