The global university: the role of senior managers

Project reference : LGMF-126

Lead institution : Bournemouth University

Senior managers were invited to reflect on and share their experiences of shaping 'a global university' in a publication. 'The Global University: the role of Senior Managers' (ISBN 978-1-900109-31-4) was published by Development Education Association (DEA) in April 2008 to illustrate good practice.

It illustrated the value of 'global perspectives' to the vision and purpose of HEIs as global institutions. Copies were sent to all HEIs in England and other stakeholders. The publication is downloadable from the DEA web-site.

In presenting within one publication a number of issues that are often treated separately (internationalisation, sustainable development and global citizenship) wider discussion has been promoted on the role of global citizenship and sustainable development in higher education.

Total funding : £30,000
