Project reference : LTC-016

Lead institution : Oxford Brookes University

This project has identified and developed good practice in strategic development and transformational change in higher education. The partners, Oxford Brookes University, Bournemouth University and the University of Bradford, operated as an action learning set to address the development of distinctiveness strategies.

Resources have been created to enable universities and colleges in understanding  and working with their distinctivness.

The Distinct Framework has been developed as a five-stage tool to support the process.  It covers:

  • the case for change.
  • establishing your distinctiveness.
  • guiding your internal decisions.
  • communicating your distinctiveness.
  • leadership.

This project was funded under the Leading Transformational Change initiative and ran from November 2009 to June 2012.
