Improving higher education - additional dissemination and guidance
Project reference : GMP-332
Lead institution : Liverpool John Moores University
- In collaboration with HESDA the project will hold a one-day workshop in eight different locations throughout England. The workshops would be based on describing how the use of the EFQM Model delivers all the requirements of a QAA audit as a normal part of business. In addition to this, the workshops would present the principles, lessons learnt and benefits delivered by the original GMP200 project and their immediate practical value to higher education.
- The project will produce a comprehensive guide to the EFQM excellence model in the language of higher education, related to managing an HEI at all levels, with practical cross-reference to operational and strategic management.
- The project will also produce a guide of action tools and techniques for higher education. As the EFQM Excellence model is a diagnostic model and no more, proven tools are required to analyse and act upon the diagnosis. These tools include gap analysis, Pareto analysis and cause/effect analysis. It should be noted that the project does not wish to change these well-established tools.; the goal is to de-mystify them, show worked examples and demonstrate their practical benefit to higher education, in the language of higher education.
