Delivering improved value-for-money from printing

Project reference : LGMF-087

Lead institution : Standing Conference for Heads of Media Services (SCHoMS)

There were two phases to this project which was completed in 2008.

A first (and main) phase examined ways in which improved value for money can be obtained for print (from desktop/fax to institutional print services) by looking at: best practice case studies; technologies which can facilitate improvements; overview of VFM studies; procurement options.

A second phase implemented the results of the first phase in a small number of institutions.

Throughout the project findings were disseminated through: presentations; a web-site; good practice guidance aimed both at operational managers and at senior managementm, as achieving implementation of the results will require an institutional approach.

Total funding : £73,000
