Project reference : LGMF-069
Lead institution : Open University
This scoping study, which finished in October 2007, investigated the feasibility of a sector-wide, Higher Education Project and Programme Management (HE-PPM) initiative. It focussed on current project and programme management (PPM) practice in English and Welsh higher education institutions and looked at how best practice in these areas might be further disseminated and embedded across the sector.
It concluded that projects and programmes in higher education are significant and resource intensive activities, carried out with considerable diversity of practice. PPM is used more frequently in structured environments such as estates and less frequently in post-1992 institutions.
Total funding : £15,000
