Project reference : LSDHE43
Lead institution : Cranfield University
This project developed a robust, repeatable methodology for measuring the intellectual contribution higher education institutions (HEIs) make towards reducing the carbon footprint of other organisations. This contribution can be termed their 'carbon brainprint', and refers to the work they do directly through research and consultancy activities, and indirectly, through teaching.
Quantifying the carbon brainprint of HEIs will give a measure of the impact of the higher education (HE) sector in mitigating global warming.
The project which is funded under the Leading Sustainable Development in HE initiative was completed in July 2011.
Total funding : £138,382
