Higher Education Environmental Performance Improvement - follow-on work

Project reference : GMP-335

Lead institution : University of Bradford

The project will:

  • provide a comprehensive source of information on how HEIs can create environmental improvement, with particular emphasis on the benefits of collecting and using detailed data on energy and water consumption and waste generation
  • continue to increase the amount of benchmarking data available to HEIs, in part because meeting the previous objective means that there is a continuous increase in the number of bodies capable of providing information
  • run further action-based workshops to assist practitioners in using the information provided by the benchmarking database and other sources, and to strengthen and develop networks of expertise within the sector
  • develop additional case studies and guidance materials on topics deemed to be important by practitioners
  • extend the project’s data collection and other activities into non-university HEIs
  • develop a ‘road-map’ of future environmental data collection in the sector.

Total funding : £95,400
