Tools and guidance

These materials cover the following areas: 

• Management information projects
  The TRAC Development Group, in response to feedback from the higher education sector, undertook a series of management information projects during 2010-11.  These projects focussed on the areas of: Course Costing, Workload Planning, Departmental Sustainability and Resource Allocation.  The projects were led by the sector and gained significant interest.  

• TRAC guidance
  The TRAC guidance is the key material that sets out the requirements that institutions are required to follow in preparing the TRAC returns and calculating the cost rates for use in research-project costing.  The TRAC guidance is currently held on the JCPSG web-site.  

• Policy and communications for managers
   Key documents published by the FSSG about financial sustainability and the TRAC process.  

• Policy and communications for practitioners 
  Key documents published by the TDG aimed at TRAC practitioners.

• Support unit briefings
  During the year the TRAC Support Unit provide a small number of briefing documents to the TRAC community.  These briefings provide a range of new information, key reminders and information on current developments.
