Below is a list of higher education institutions (HEIs) that are charities and receive funding from HEFCE.
For those with exempt charity status, clicking on the name will link to a page on the HEI's own web-site giving access to their charity information. Under the Charities Act 2006, HEFCE is their principal regulator.
For the HEIs that are registered charities, clicking on the name will link to their information on the Charity Commission web-site. They are regulated as charities by the Commission. These HEIs are marked *.
Note: the words 'college', 'institute', 'school', 'university' are ignored in this listing.
School of Oriental and African Studies: see 'Oriental'

Conservatoire for Dance and Drama (a registered charity) operates as a consortium and distributes HEFCE funding to its members. Members of the consortium are also listed above and are marked ^. Most of the members are registered charities, but the Northern School of Contemporary Dance is an exempt charity and we are its principal regulator.
