Diploma Development Partnerships
Diplomas are being developed by multi-agency Diploma Development Partnerships (DDPs) led by the relevant Sector Skills Councils as representatives of employers, with members representing a number of key stakeholders, including higher education and education professionals.
The DDPs will make sure that the content of the qualifications meets the needs of employers and higher education - including a requirement to succeed in achieving functional English, maths and ICT. Further information is on the DCSF 14-19 web-site.
Below we provide guidance to help Diploma Development Partnerships to engage with key organisations and institutions in the HE sector when developing diplomas. Involving these bodies will be key in ensuring that the diplomas are accepted as legitimate and robust entry qualifications to HE programmes.
The advice sets out how DDPs might engage with:
- Higher Education Academy Subject Centres
- Foundation Degree Forward and foundation degree providers
- Lifelong Learning Networks
- sector representative bodies (Universities UK, GuildHE and the Association of Colleges)
- Centres for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.
