Summary
The University of the Arts London has been awarded funding to develop a national Lifelong Learning Network (LLN) for the arts over the next four years. The network will be made up of specialist art, design and performing arts institutions across England and Scotland.
The network will widen participation in the arts in higher education by supporting learners on vocational programmes in applying to higher education and on to continuing study and employment. It will create clear and transparent vocational progression routes through to higher education, as well as offering continuing professional development.
Working closely with Sector Skills Councils, the network will develop additional qualifications at all levels, which meet the needs of employers in the creative industries. All of this work will be underpinned by thorough research and evaluation, on which the network can continually build.
