Summary
The overarching theme of the Linking London Network is that of learning opportunities for full-time but also part-time students. A focus on work-based learning (WBL) and part-time provision will enable institutions to engage fully with the LLN, and provide a strategic value-added dimension to the work of the LLN. Initially the LLN built on the strengths identified in its institutions in the areas of:
- education
- health administration and health sciences
- public administration & voluntary sector
In April 2008, the Linking London Board approved the network to work in all sector areas of relevance to their particular geographical areas of focus in London.
The partner institutions are committed to:
- achievement of a partnership between a range of FE and HE partners
- the long term sustainability of the LLN
- the development of vocational learning in the workplace
- explicit articulation relationships between programmes of study and between institutions
- progression agreements
- joint information and guidance provision
- development or redesign of new programmes of study to facilitate progression
- opportunity to establish innovative teaching and learning on a cooperative basis.
