Summary

The aim of the Skills for Sustainable Communities Lifelong Learning Network is to provide vocational routes into and through higher education for learners from a range of entry points, such as work-based learning, further education and employment.

The main delivery mechanism will be through a number of Action Based Task Groups (ABTGs) which will be funded to carry out delivery of the network targets. There are six task groups being established in the first instance. They are:

  • Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG)
  • Staff Development
  • Health and Social Care including Children's and Young People's Services
  • Construction, (Initially focusing on Leadership, Management and Enterprise skills)
  • Food and Drink, (Initially focusing on Leadership, Management and Enterprise skills)

Over the next six months the project management team will be appointed and the task groups established.
