Overall purpose: The Lifelong Learning Network Evaluation Steering Group will steer the LLN evaluation. The group will meet a minimum of twice a year (and will also comment occasionally by correspondence) and will be used to ensure that HEFCE commission high quality studies and develop appropriate evaluation frameworks and processes.
The Group will have the following remit:
- To provide advice and guidance to the HEFCE on the overall scope, development and progress of the evaluation strategy.
- For externally commissioned studies:
- To provide input and approval for invitation(s) to tender.
- To review progress reports from the commissioned researchers and advise on the appropriateness of the methodology employed and the quality of the work undertaken.
- To provide guidance to the project team on additional sources of information or contacts.
- Approve any interim and final reports.
- To provide advice and guidance to the LLN National Forum in developing a process and framework for peer evaluation.
- To maintain oversight of other research and evaluation (including LLNs' own reports) that may be of relevance to the LLN national evaluation.
