Higher education institutions

We fund 132 higher education institutions (in 2016-17).

Further education colleges

We also directly fund 208 further education colleges (in 2016-17).

We are responsible for funding higher education courses taught in FECs. Some FECs are funded directly; others receive money indirectly through a franchise agreement with a HEI, or as part of a consortium.
